Alexandria webinar FAQ

How can I register for a webinar?

Each webinar has its own page here on the Alexandria website. Under the “Registration” tab, you will be able to select your ticket type and number of ticket, then click on the green “Register” button. This will take you to teh registration form on Eventbrite – the platform we use for registration and payment management. Fill in the form and your payment (for paying webinars) and that’s it! You will then receive a confirmation e-mail from Eventbrite containing your invoice. The invoice is generated by Eventbrite based on the information you entered in the registration form. A few minutes later you will receive another e-mail from “The Alexandria Project” (via Citrix GoToWebinar). This email contains the link to access the webinar at the scheduled time and date, so do not delete it.
If you haven’t received the email containing the link to access the webinar, please check your Spam folder.
Please note that it is not possible to “pre-register” and pay later – the only option during registration is to pay the webinar fee at that time.

What payment methods are available?

Once you’ve filled in the registration form on Eventbrite, please click the “Check out with Paypal” button. This does not mean you need a Paypal account: two options will be offered, either paying via Paypal if you have an account there (or create one), or “Pay without opening a Paypal account” or “Pay with a debit or credit card”. In this case, Paypal will simply act as a secure transaction processor – you’ll be able to pay with your debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, EC-Karte, etc.) or other payment methods supported by Paypal, again without the need to create an account there if you do not wish to do so. Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirming your registration. After registering, you will also receive several reminders indicating the date and time of your webinar and a link to access the webinar.

If you are based in Germany and prefer paying via “Überweisung”, please contact us.

In which currencies can I pay?

Most of our webinars are charged in EUR, but depending on the country in which the presenter is based, some webinars may also be paid in USD or other currencies. This is a case-by-case basis per webinar. The main currency for a given webinar is cleraly stated on the webinar page, under “Price”.

Who sets the price of webinars? What are the “Eventbrite fees”?

The presenters decide how much they want to charge for their webinars per participant.
Eventbrite fees are then added to this price and this is the final amount you pay to register (regardless of VAT – see below). The fees are charged by Eventbrite for use of their registration, invoicing and payment processing services. The Eventbrite fees work as follow: 2.5% of the ticket value plus $0.99 per ticket.

How does VAT work for Alexandria webinars?

It is simple: Alexandria is a Germany-based business, so when registering for an Alexandria webinar:

you are VAT-exempted if:

– you are a business based in the European Union, with an European VAT ID
– you are a business or a private person based outside of the European Union

you are subject to VATon the other hand if:

– you are a business based in Germany, or subject to German VAT
– you are a private person based in Germany
– you are a private person based in the European Union

I registered to a webinar but I can’t make it

In this case, the Alexandria cancellation policy for webinars applies. Most webinars will be available as replays for 40 days after they have been held. These replays will be accessible only to paid registrants for the actual webinar. Any requests for a refund emailed to the Alexandria team up to 30 minutes before the actual webinar starts will be granted in full. Also, there is sometimes a chance the same webinar will be organized again at a later date. Make sure to subscribe to Alexandria updates to receive notifications by e-mail.

What happens if a webinar has to be cancelled?
Should the presenter or the Alexandria team decide to cancel a scheduled webinar, every effort will be made to reschedule it. If this is not possible, all attendees will be refunded 100% of their registration fee or offered credit for another webinar or resource.

How can I access the platform?
Once you’ve registered to attend the webinar, you will receive regular automatic reminders from Citrix GoToWebinar and the link to access the virtual classroom at the scheduled date and time.

Will there be handouts e-mailed to attendees after the webinar?
This is up to the presenter – if they choose to make handouts, you will be notified and sent all information.

In which languages are webinars held?
Alexandria webinars can be held in any language. This is specified on each individual webinar page.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
For the time being, we do not send certificates to all participants automatically. If you need a certificate, simply contact us after you’ve attended the webinar and we’ll happily make one for you.

I would like to present a webinar with Alexandria. How can I do this?

All ideas and proposals are welcome!
